Gloucestershire Cheese Making
Description
A study of cheese making in Gloucestershire. Six chapters cover a brief history of cheese making in the county, a description of Gloucestershire cheeses, cheese-making equipment, how Double Gloucester cheese is made, storage, marketing and showing. Appendices contain drawings and photographs of cheese-making equipment, the cheese making process and accounts of cheese making from different periods. Photographs illustrate the manufacturing process, equipment and storage of cheese on a farm at Ditcheat in Somerset. Other photographs show cheese making artefacts on display at Gloucester Folk Museum. A number of printed leaflets, booklets and magazine articles promoting (Gloucestershire) cheese are included.
