Description
A study comprising an introduction and history of rag-and-bone collecting, a description of the Leeds Tatters' Market, the rag-and-bone business in 1971, with descriptions of some yards in Leeds, and the rag-and-bone man and his round. The final section focusses on the rag-and-bone man's cart and its design, construction, decoration and painting. Photographs show ponies, stableyard, pony and cart, yards and cart details. Pencil drawings illustrate cart details, tools and decorations.
