Military Humour
Description
A study of verbal military humour, based on written items sent to the collector from a British Army unit based in Antwerp (70 items), and 500 items from the Humor in Uniform pages of the 'Readers' Digest' magazine. An Introduction is followed by a chapter which explains the classification system chosen for the two sets of material, the subject categories and the proportion of each within the overall collections. Suggestions for further classification are included in Chapter Three. An Appendix provides examples of the material received from the Unit in Antwerp, including Accident Report sheets, confidential reports, nicknames, anecdotes and rank puns.
