Description
A study of salmon fishing in the Teign Estuary in South Devon, with sections which describe the process of catching the fish and the equipment and techniques used, the net, the boat and the team of fishermen, salmon fishing and the community. Photographs illustrating all aspects of the industry are included throughout. Appendices provide figures for the fish caught in the River Teign between 1934 and 1964, and extracts from the Devon River Board Byelaws relating to fishing nets.
