Darach Ó Catháin: Traditional Irish Singer
Description
A project which focusses on the life and song repertoire of an Irish singer, Darach Ó Catháin, living in Leeds , and comprising a brief biography, verbatim transcripts of field notes not duplicated on three accompanying audiotapes and Tape Tables of Contents for each tape. The tape recordings were made in Leeds in May 1973. The transcripts record the collector's four meetings with Ó Catháin at his home, her impressions of him, his family and the fieldwork situation, the songs he sang and descriptions of his singing style and performance.
