Michael Downes, [recorded in Doonogan, County Clare], plays a number of fiddle tunes; includes also his comments on the quality of his playing; plays three versions of a reel learned from Bobby Casey, and a further version learned from Junior Crehan; talks about learning the fiddle; traditional players such as the Casey and Crehan families, John Kelly and Willy Clancey; sources of his repertoire; playing technique; fiddlers Patrick Kelly and Michael Flynn.
