Description
Jack Couldwell, interviewed in his own home in Worrallby Terry Gifford. Talks about his grandfather and the Big Set (Christmas carol band), and describes the instruments played, route taken, houses visited in the Loxley , Wadsley and Oughtibridge areas; transposing the carol tunes; informant singing in the Big Set; singing at the Blue Ball pub in Worrall. Interview carried out as part of the research for the BBC Radio Sheffield broadcast, 'A People's Carol'[see tape LAVC/SRE/A189r]. Conclusion of session which starts on tape LAVC/SRE/A184r.
