Professor Thomas Thacker, recorded at home in Durham; gives his recollections of Janet Bluntin the late 1920s/early 1930s; attitudes of villagers to her and vice versa; her family, folk song collecting, friends, family connections with Adderbury, morris dancing sessions in the village Institute for older children; village school master; JB's interest in local history [informant saved 12 trunks of papers/deeds following JB's death - refers to them being held in the Bodleian Library. No reference can be found for them in the library catalogues, however]; informant's family; thoughts on Adderbury village and changes - population, homeless people, Gypsy Traveller communities; quarrels; travel and transport - carrier's cart to Banbury; bus service; neighbourliness; benevolence of wealthy people in the community; changing values; Adderbury Boys' School - describes the school master, arrangement of classes, subjects taught; football on the village green Sunday School; Adderbury Fair and Club Day; domestic furnishings; gardening; village bakers, doctor; childhood pastimes; local suicides; discussion of some of the people whose names Michael Pickering has noted from the Blunt manuscripts - occupations, songs sung, clothes worn. 6 of 7.
