Copy of disc recordings of three speakers from Acomb, made in the late 1930s as part of the Survey of Northumbrian Dialects conducted by Harold Orton during his time at Armstrong College, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The date when this tape copy was made is not known. [Collector announcement]; Joseph Henderson and Henry Henderson talk about entertainments and working life. [Tr. 3] [Collector announcement]; Joseph Henderson and an unidentified male, recorded in Acomb Parish Hall on the 11 July 1939, talk about singing and dancing. One of them sings a song [unidentified]. [Tr. 4]
