Two male informants (brothers), recorded outside in the Ecclesfield area of Sheffield; talk about winters, including that of 1946/1947; pig keeping and poultry farming; milk delivering; their brother; older generation in Ecclesfield; discuss the tape recording; the view, local area, hills and reservoirs; the Sheffield Flood of 1864; the collector's caravan. [Tr. 3] Stanley Ellis talks about the qualities of good linguistic informants and speaking in dialect. [Tr. 4] Stanley Ellis recites the words of Fred Bryant talking about dress, and in particular modern women's clothes. [Tr. 5]; followed by a recording of this informant speaking the same words.
