Description
Frank Weatherill [recorded in Danby] plays the cello, accompanied on the piano and violin by two unidentified people [possibly a Mr. Jones, and Mary ?, who accompany him on tape LAVC/SRE/A681r]. Not all the tunes are identified, but the first is 'Cowl Bank' (written by Frank Weatherill), and the tunes 'Bonny Hawthorn' and 'Three Jolly Fishermen' are announced; Mr. Weatherill then talks with the collector and his wife about leadership, power, hero-worship, subservience, free speech and fear in Germany during World War Two (refers to talking with prisoners of war in Yorkshire); offers thoughts on Adolf Hitler; Mr. Weatherill's theory of relativity; talk of poverty and hardship.
