Description
[Side 1] Bill discusses harsh winters in past, describes timber being transported from Tanhouse Farm and Walterstone across ice, talks about unprecedented amounts of snow in winter 1947 and lack of rain in spring to clear 'slop' [= slush], recalls lightning striking and burning down local house while owners were at fair in Abergavenny. [Side 2] Bill talks about threshing by hand with a 'threshel' [= flail], discusses mowing by hand, recalls once cutting two acres in single day.
