[Side 1] Bill talks about cutting and 'pleaching' [= repairing] hedges, lists different bushes and explains hedging techniques, describes farm work incl. working with horses and cattle, ditching, 'thacking' [= thatching] and 'soughing' [= laying/clearing drainage ditches], discusses foxes and badgers and planting of 'cover' [= shelter for game] and 'earth' [= fox's den]. [Side 2] Bill recalls time when local Major's favourite terrier had to be rescued from earth, remembers losing puppy in earth, discusses breeding of hounds and expertise of huntsmen.
