Description
[Side 1] William recalls 'thrashing' [= threshing] by hand, explains use of 'thrail' [= flail] and 'nile' [= striking part of flail], discusses harvesting by hand and comments younger generation no longer know how to cut sheaf, explains traditional method of building 'rick' [= haystack]. [Side 2] William explains how to thatch 'rick' [= haystack], incl. use of pegs and 'hay-bands' [= rope of twisted straw used to bind bundle of hay], discusses storage of grain and journey to flour-mill to grind wheat.
