[Side 1] Stanley introduces set of recordings documenting Lincolnshire Dialect, explains background to fieldwork in Lincolnshire, describes selection of informants and purpose of visit to make sound recordings of spontaneous speech to support previously elicited survey data, describes editing of original recordings and subsequent transfer to gramophone disc in Department of Phonetics at University of Leeds. [Side 2] Thomas tells anecdote about local mother helping soften son's punishment for being cheeky to his father, Thomas and Mr Greenside recall previous night's tied snowball prize draw which was settled by cutting deck of cards prompting dispute over value of ace. Note: Recording date 1952-01-11 noted by ear, 1951-01-18 written on lacquer disc label.
