[Side 1] Jesse talks about breaking in colts, tells series of anecdotes about accidents incl. occasion when he was thrown from cart into ditch during bad weather at night, explains how friend had managed to keep hold of colt but he and cart were swept into ditch by floodwater, briefly discusses recent severe flooding incl. being evacuated from home for three months and road completely washed away. [Side 2] Jesse compares wages and cost of living now and in past, reflects on gradual changes in standard of living, recalls farmers frequently supplementing wages with e.g. cider, bread and cheese, compares attitudes to work, money and clothes now and in past, recalls wearing corduroy suit to Sunday school.
