Description
[Side 1] Mr Hunt reflects on his working life, recalls starting work aged 10 years, describes hours and wages at Hathern brickworks and later at sock mill, remembers 'kill' [= kiln] closing during World War 1 and mentions Zeppelin raids, describes last day at work and being given 30 'bob' [= shilling] and free socks for life. [Side 2] Mr Hunt describes two incidents when he feared for his life, recalls crossing railway line and not hearing express train, describes near accident while repairing elevator belt at mill, reflects on lifetime's earnings and pride in now owning several properties locally.
