[Side 1] Fred discusses price of alcohol in past, recalls trips to Bull's Inn at Skipton, talks about travel by horse and cart, explains types of harness and names for parts e.g. 'swingletree' [= crossbar to which trace-horse is fastened], recalls taking wool to Skipton on foot and building of railway line to Grassington. [Side 2] Fred talks about ploughing locally in past, discusses sheep farming, recalls bad winter c.1895. and having to fodder sheep for 16 weeks, describes how to 'clip' [= shear] sheep on 'cratch' [= shearing table], use of tar and 'ruddle' [= pigment used to mark sheep].
