Description
[Side 1] Ben tells anecdote about first trip to London as young man, forewarned by stationmaster to beware of women, planned to meet man but refused to go when met at station by wife, eventually agreed to follow her to Peckham, describes disorientatation at high buildings. [Side 2] Ben talks about several mishaps at work, recalls being given doctor's certificate for light work so initially sent to stack cement bags before being sent home suffering from cement dust, subsequently assigned to fitter's shop sorting brassware but machinery noise gave him severe headaches, finally worked as pipe-cutters assistant but involved in accident with loading crane and off work for 9 months.
