[Side 1] Conversation between Haigh, his daughter and Herbert about Christmas, description of traditional welcome given to outsiders, discussion of recipe for 'parkin' [= type of gingerbread cake] and ingredients incl. 'flod' [= mixture of oatmeal and treacle], brief reference to 'moggin' [= parkin made with yeast]. [Side 2] Haigh, his daughter and Herbert continue discussion of parkin, talk about Haigh's father having to 'piecen' [= rejoin broken threads in spinning mill] from age of six and eating porridge made from meal, water and treacle. Note: Recording date 1951-09 noted by ear, 1951-11-06 written on lacquer disc label.
