Description
[Side 1] Bill describes witnessing two rabbit catchers catching and killing deer that had strayed out of park, describes how to catch rabbits using wire traps, briefly reflects on wages and living conditions now and in past, gleefully recalls widespread making of home-made cider even by people with no apple trees (i.e, presumably by pinching apples), talks about catching 100 rabbits in a good week, comments farm wages often supplemented by allowances of e.g. milk, bacon and eggs, talks briefly about enjoying 'boozing' [= drinking]. [Side 2] Bill tells anecdote about local character, Tom Addis, calling to eat dinner, describes two incidents when stoats drove away rabbits he was trying to catch, talks about demise of red squirrel locally and first encounter with grey squirrel.
