Description
[Side 1] Tom recalls cutting corn with scythe, describes mowing in gangs and tying up corn in 'stitches' [= sheaves of corn set up in field to dry], talks about thatching stack with 'spars' [= thatching peg] and 'bill-hook' [= thick knife with hooked end used for pruning/cutting brushwood], reflects on demanding working conditions work, briefly dicusses catching moles as young lad. [Side 2] Tom talks about regularly setting wires to catch rabbits with farmer's permission, tells anecdote about being caught stealing walnuts with 3 friends, describes subsequent court trial in Stowey resulting in fine of 4s 6d.
