[Side 1] Mr Sheath compares ploughing and sowing now and in past, discusses reaping by hand, explains practice of setting up mown crops in 'hile' [= sheaves of corn set up in field to dry], discusses building and thatching 'rick' [= stack of corn/hay] incl. importance of keeping water out, reflects on impact of combine harvesters and tractors. [Side 2] Mrs. Sheath reflects on changes in village, mentions buildings pulled down and new houses, describes typical day keeping house for father and at home, recalls looking after father for 15 years incl. frequent daily visits to cook and clean and staying up all night during illness.
