Description
M.A. dissertation on the oral tales told by the Yoruba people of south-west Nigeria. Section One contains chapters on the Yoruba people, the oral tale in Yorubaland, the structure and types of tale told, and Yoruba narrative art. Section Two contains summaries of twenty-five tales, and some sample translations. These tales are also included written as told in their original dialect (Egba, Egbado-Ketu, Anago and Awori).
