Description
M.A. study containing chapters on the development of folklore study and the problem posed by this development, the possibility of change in the present study of folklore and an approach to a case study, the geographical, political and social environments in which both the singers of the 'Battle of Kosovo' cycle of heroic ballads and their audiences live, a consideration of the songs themselves, followed by conclusions and the perspectives adopted in the study. An appendix contains English and Serbo-Croatian texts of the song 'The Maiden of Kossovo'.
