Description
M.A. study in two sections. The first includes an introduction to the Igbo society of Eastern Nigeria, emphasising the Igbo economy, political organisations, belief system and other aspects of Igbo cultural pattern. This also includes a classification of Igbo festivals, and a description of a number of calendar, cyclic and rite of passage festivals. Section Two contains chapters on the structure and function of Igbo festivals, a conclusion and appendices containing summaries of some festivals, sample questionnaire and interview sheets used in the field.
