Harmonium

Description

Copy of a photograph of Richard Alderson (Neddy Dick) of Keld ( Swaledale) playing a harmonium (or reed organ) in his home. He holds a stick in his left hand for striking the bells on top of the instrument. A tube-like device rests on the harmonium, protruding at an angle which brings it in line with Mr. Alderson's mouth. There is a string attached which might have been used to angle this flute-like tube into position. 14 bells of varying sizes, possibly made of brass, sit on top of the harmonium.
