Timber Barn: Detail
Description
Close-up detail of the aperture on a timber barn in Varmland (Sweden). This kind of aperture was so shaped to protect the building from evil spirits. The placename of the village at which the barn is located is recorded in the Slide Index as Sucka, but this location cannot be found in Swedish gazetteers. Originally held in green slide cabinet, reference A100.
