Loom (Norway)

Description

Female working a vertical traditional loom from Uppstadgogn (Norway). The pre-woven edge of the fabric is fastened to the top beam, from where the warp hangs. Weaving is done from the top to the bottom of the warp. The loom is housed at the Norsk Folkemuseum in Oslo. Originally held in green slide cabinet, reference A147.
