Bridal Tapestry (Norway)

Description

Bridal tapestry from Drivstua (Norway), dating to around 1600. The tapestry is double-woven in frieze form, and is made up of four pieces sewn together. It is heavily patterned with human figures and animals (including horses, reindeer, and birds), and geometric designs. The tapestry is housed at the Norsk Folkemuseum in Oslo. Originally held in green slide cabinet, reference B2.
