Rope Bolls for Canal Boats
Description
Rope bolls for use on canal boats, at the Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum (formerly the Waterways Museum) on the Grand Union Canal at Stoke Bruerne (Northamptonshire). These are solid bolls made of cotton line, and are formed around a stone bound with rope. The one on the left was used as an anchor Originally held in green slide cabinet, reference B105.
