Hay Ropemaking
Description
Four men (two seated and two standing) making hay rope, Lleyn Peninsula (North Wales). The seated men plait/twist lengths of hay together, whilst the men standing twist the rope and keep its tension using hand-held wooden devices (as pictured in LAVC/PHO/S607). Originally held in green slide cabinet, reference B111.
