Description
Highly pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of Thomas Brown, with large image of Worshipful Company of Coachmakers and Coach Harness Makers livery, filling card. Motto 'surgit post nubila phoebus' underneath. Two smaller images of carriages at bottom corners of card. Print marks visible and manuscript pencil note in John Bedford's hand on reverse 'c. 1830 (@ Foregate St in 1835)' Transcription: THOMAS BROWN. Coach Builder, STAFFORD. CARRIAGES FOR EXPORTATION. CARRIAGES LET ON HIRE. A. Sharpe, 10 Ryders Court, Leicester Sq [Square], London.
