Description
Highly pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card (advertisement) depicting chair of P. P. [Peter Paul] Rubens in glazed case, presented at the Royal Academy in Antwerp. Elaborate line border around edge of card. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine with two tone coloured inks in blues and purples. Remains of previous grey paper mount and glue present on reverse. French transcription: CHAISE DE P.P. RUBENS. 1633. Bruges, De Lay - De Muyttere, Lith. 1845. English translation: Chair of P. P. Rubens, 1633. Lithography by De Lay - De Muyttere, Bruges, 1845.
