H. Joseph trade card
Description
Highly pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card of H. Joseph, celebrating New Year 1847. Trader details in elaborate frame with leafwork decoration and ornate patterned background. Rectagular panel in centre of frame depicting three men in workshop in blue ink. Two circular panels at either side depicting chair at left and table at right. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine with two tone coloured inks in pinks and oranges. Remains of previous blue paper mount and glue present on reverse.
