Description
Highly pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card of H. Joseph, celebrating New Year 1846. Trader details in elaborate frame with leafwork and floral decoration and images of furniture in each corner. Oval panel depicting three men in workshop in centre of frame. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine with two tone coloured inks in pinks and oranges. Remains of previous blue paper mount and glue present on reverse. Dutch transcription: NIEUW-JAER-WENSCH 1846 OPGEDRAGEN AAN DE HEEREN onfangers Surveillante en Leden der Maetschappy Van Timmerlieden en Schryuwerkers ON DER DE BESCHERMING VAN DEN H. JOSEPH door de dieuxers J. Frembgen en P. Callens. Lith van J. Van Bree Gend.
