Description
Circular 19th century chromolithographed trade card (label) of B. Day, mounted on A4 paper. Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom and motto 'Dieu et mon droit' at top of item, suggestive of Royal Letters Patent given by His Majesty, William IV. Green item with significant wear. Transcription: BY HIS MAJESTY'S ROYAL LETTERS PATENT. B. DAY'S Patent Chimney Ornaments are so Constructed that they may be Used for Fire Screens, Flower or Scent Jars, Time Piece Cases, CANDLE SHADES, and Various other Useful Purposes: Manufactured by the Patentee. Snow Hill, Birmingham. Appointed Manufacturer to His Majesty. The Portability & Elegance of these Fire Screens give them a decided Preference to all others.
