L. de Craecker et fils trade card
Description
Highly pictorial 19th century chromolithographed trade card of L. de Craecker et fils, with three panels depicting furniture and making process in decorative cartouches, surrounded by fruits and floral decoration. Two seated gryphons rest beneath two of the panels. Man with helmet depicted from waist upwards in leafwork frame at bottom of card. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Enamelled card or carte porcelaine with two tone coloured inks in pinks and oranges. French transcription: L. DE CRAEKER ET FILS. Charpentiers et Menuisiers, GAND. Ayant demeuré rue avenue de la Place d'Armes No 5. Demeurent actuellement rue cloître St Bavon No 12. LITHOGRAPE DE T et D HEMELSOET A GAND. English translation: L. DE CRAEKER AND SONS. Carpenters and Joiners, GHENT. Previously based at No. 5 rue de la Place d'Armes. Currently based at No. 12, rue cloître St Bavon. LITHOGRAPHY BY T and D HEMESOET FROM GHENT.
