Simple 19th century letterpress trade card of J. Strickland, detailing extensive list of wares. Trader details in a variety of typefaces. Manicule points to right towards text 'POWDER, SHOT, FLINTS, &c.' Rectangular shape cut out of top right corner. Some ink marks on reverse. Transcription: J. STRICKLAND, Hardwareman, BIRMINGHAM and SHEFFIELD, WAREHOUSE, NEAR THE TOP OF LONDON-STREET, UXBRIDGE; Sells the following Articles, viz. - GOLD, Silver, Gilt and Plated Articles; - plated on Steel, Iron, and Copper; - IRONMONGERY, CUTLERY, and JAPANNED GOODS; - Britannia Metal and Brass Goods; TIN WARE of all sorts, Files of every description; Hard Soder and Plated Spurs; - Liverpool Patent Lamps; Brass and Japanned Lamps and Lanterns, of different descriptions; Hardware of all kinds ; - Coffin Furniture. - Double and Single Barrel GUNS, Pistols, Pistol Tinder Boxes, and Blunderbusses, of all descriptions, Warranted Proof. - Implements for cleaning Guns. POWDER, SHOT, FLINTS, &c. N.B. Guns, Pistols, Blunderbusses, and Fire-arms of every description cleaned and repaired. - All Orders executed with punctuality, on the most reasonable terms, and on the shortest notice.
