Field Recordings of the Dialect of Emper
Description
This file contains ms. fieldwork sheets, as used for the Survey of English Dialects (SED), recording answers to the SED questionnaire in phonetic script for Emper, County Westmeath, Ireland. The recordings were made in November 1970, and include a note by Nally on the phonetic symbols employed. The informant is not identified. The fieldwork sheets are accompanied by a page of ms. notes in Harold Orton's hand with comments on Nally's fieldwork.
