Description
Highly pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of Edward Slater. Large image of Brompton House shop in centre of card, with furniture in front of shop and various figures, dogs and horse and cart on road in foreground. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Manuscript pencil note on reverse 'No. 3'. Transcription: EDWD [EDWARD] SLATER'S Feather Bed, Bedstead & Cabinet Manufactory, and Carpet Warehouse. UPHOLSTERER & UNDERTAKER, 21, 22 & 23, Queen's Buildings, BROMPTON BELOW SLOANE STREET. French and other Bedsteads made TO ANY PATTERN. Wire Fauze, Spring Venetian and ROLLER BLINDS. C. Cole sculp. 54 Theobalds Road.
