W. Sym trade card
Description
Bottom half of highly pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of W. Sym [William Sym]. Trader details in a variety of typefaces inscribed on plinth bearing column base. Corinthian column capital and part of gothic arch in foreground. Manuscript ink note of customer name Mr Layton dated 26 Nov 1831 on front of card, with explanatory note to Mr Tilbury on reverse regarding delivery of hamper tent bedstead and fender, signed by W. Sym. Manuscript pencil note in top corner '206/0104'. Transcription: W. SYM, CABINET MANUFACTURER, & UPHOLSTERER, No. 58. Upper Mary-le-bone Street, FITZROY SQUARE. (FUNERALS CONDUCTED.)
