Pictorial 19th century engraved trade card of J. Allen depicting two trunks in top corners. Trader details in a variety of typefaces with decorative flourishes. Manuscript ink note of customer name Major Farquharson dated 6 Jan 1832 on front of card, with note on reverse regarding regarding delivery of five cases to Major Farquharson. Transcription: J. ALLEN, Camp Equipage, Trunk, Sea Chest and Plate Case MAKER, No 22, Strand (2 doors from Hungerford St) Canteens & Liquor Cases for the Army & Navy. Leather Portmanteaus on the improved principle. Carpet Bags and Brush Cases in great variety. Trunks and Imperials fitted to Carriages. TENTS AND MARQUEES. Writing Desks & Drefsing [Dressing] Cases.
