Harvesting

Description

Copy of a photograph taken in the early 20th century of harvested corn being led in at an unidentified location in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The corn is stacked high on a wagon pulled by a four-horse team. The wagon is unusual in having double shafts rather than a pole. Two farmworkers sit on top of the harvest, one of whom is driving the wagon. The driver is arrowed in ms. on the original photograph, but his identity is not known. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1714. With ms. note. Originally held in Photo File: Community Life.
