Description

Contact prints of photographs taken during a Survey of Vernacular Architecture around Conistone ( Wharfedale), undertaken by students on the Museums Association Diploma Curatorial Course in Folk Life and Local History, hosted by the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS) in July 1971. The prints include images of the Church of St. Mary (interior and exterior) and the churchyard (5); stone barns, including a barn with a dovecote on the gable end (4); the Methodist chapel (2); a gravestone (1); a font (1); a metal handcart (1); an elaborate iron gate and mounting stone (2); a workbench (1); a miscellaneous shot, probably taken by mistake (1); and 6 over-exposed images. The contact print sheet is labelled I, with subject Conistone and date 26.7.1971 in ms.
