Description

View looking down the main street in Whiteshill (Gloucestershire). Survey of English Dialects (SED) locality 24/4. A public house can be seen on the left hand side, and a stone cross is situated just before the bend in the road. This photograph is one of a series taken by Herbert Voitl in SED localities in the Southern and West Midland Counties. Prints of 72 localities were made from Voitl's negatives.
