Harold Orton Centenary Conference Exhibition

Papers relating to an exhibition of items relating to Harold Orton and the Survey of English Dialects (SED) at the Harold Orton Centenary Conference, an international dialectology conference marking both the centenary of Harold Orton's birth and fifty years since the start of fieldwork for the Survey of English Dialects, School of English, University of Leeds, 24-26 March 1998. The papers include Clive Upton's ms. labels/captions; an ms. list suggesting a display sequence for SED items; a word-processed list of the contents of the seven display cabinets used in the exhibition; word-processed captions used in the exhibition; and photocopied items displayed at the exhibition, including four pages from D. Fenwick's notebooks recording the dialect of Craster (Northumberland), and two reviews of 'A Word Geography of England' (1976 and 1977).
