Description
Undated oil sketch by Edward Petre Novello, of two figures, one kneeling and one standing, on a beach with white cliffs in the background and a ship cropped on the left hand side. The kneeling figure is holding an infant and the standing figure covers their face with their proper right hand, holding a staff in their left. It is likely to be a representation of a biblical or classical narrative.
