Undated oil sketch by Edward Petre Novello, of a scene with eleven seated and standing figures around a large tree. The central figure is bearded and wearing a red cape, holding a small stringed instrument in both hands. It is likely to illustrate a biblical or classical narrative and may be either an original composition or a copy of an existing work by another artist.
