The Fall of Man (fol. 87r)
Description
Adam and Eve eat the apple from the Tree of Knowledgel. The serpent, with a human head and hands, reaches out to pick another fruit. As Adam and Eve discover their nakedness they cover themselves with leaves. The gates of the Garden of Eden can be seen in the distance. The border is decorated with putti and flowers, including roses, pinks, primroses, campanulas, and acanthus leaves. Context: Hours of the Virgin: Matins: Heer du selste opdoen mijn lippen
